An unsuitable diameter – either too small or too large – can lead to poor draft, condensation of flue gases, and even dangerous leakage of smoke or carbon monoxide into living spaces. The choice of the appropriate chimney is also influenced by the height of the building, the nominal power of the appliance, the type of fuel, and other technical characteristics.

A prefabricated chimney is lighter, quick to assemble, and immediately ready for use – ideal for existing buildings and prefabricated houses. A masonry chimney is a classic solution, suitable for new constructions. Both are equally safe if properly executed and adequately dimensioned.
A chimney with too small a diameter causes poor draft, smoke backflow, and the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. A chimney with too large a diameter, however, leads to excessive cooling of flue gases, condensation, and increased soot accumulation. The diameter must always be adapted to the power and type of heating appliance.
For a masonry chimney, foundation preparation is essential, as it has a larger mass, is built from the ground up, and requires a solid base for static stability. A prefabricated chimney does not require a foundation – it can be attached directly to the wall, which is an excellent solution for adaptations and existing buildings.

Chimney installation usually takes one day. For more demanding installations – e.g., installing multiple chimneys simultaneously or complex renovation – it may take longer, which we always communicate clearly in advance.
