Chimney Renovation

When to Opt for Chimney Renovation?

The chimney is a crucial part of the heating system, as it ensures safe exhaust of flue gases and provides adequate draft for efficient fuel combustion. If the chimney is worn out, damaged, or inadequate, chimney renovation is essential (restoration).

This is what a chimney needing renovation looks like:

Why Opt for Chimney Renovation?

Safety

Renovation prevents flue gases from escaping the chimney into the room, ensuring safe heating without health or fire hazards.

No Demolition Required

The existing chimney remains in place – we insert a new stainless steel pipe into it. Fewer costs, less work, and no major construction.

Adaptation for Modern Heating Appliances

Renovation ensures the correct pipe diameter and draft for efficient operation.

Better Draft

The smooth walls of stainless steel pipes allow for better flue gas flow and faster, improved draft.

Less Condensation and Tar

Higher temperatures in the stainless steel pipe mean less tarring (deposits on chimney walls) and thus less chance of a chimney fire.

Long Lifespan

The stainless steel pipes we use are resistant to moisture, acids, and high temperatures – no rusting, no cracks, no problems.

Quick Execution

Most renovations are completed within one day.

When is Chimney Renovation Necessary?

Soot and Tar Stains

If the chimney is no longer sealed, condensation seeps through its walls, carrying soot and tar.

Chimney Deterioration

Older chimneys are often not suitable for new, energy-efficient heating appliances.

Unpleasant Soot Smell

If the chimney is no longer gas-tight, the smell of smoke and soot spreads into living areas.

Burning Prohibition

The chimney sweep service may issue a burning prohibition due to safety risks.

Flue Gas Leakage

Flue gases escape into the room, increasing the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Visible Damage

Cracks in the chimney, crumbling liners, and falling bricks are clear signs for renovation.

From an idea to a new heating appliance in 4 easy steps

1. Inspection and Consultation

We conduct an on-site inspection where we discuss your wishes and requirements, assess the condition of the existing chimney, measure the necessary dimensions on site, advise on the optimal solution, and agree on all implementation details.

The inspection is free throughout Slovenia.

2. Proposal Preparation

Based on the inspection, we prepare an individually tailored offer. We take into account your wishes, the technical characteristics of the building, and all agreed-upon details – for an optimal, safe, and long-term solution. If necessary, we also include reaming or removal of the existing chimney.

3. Installation

After confirming the offer, we prepare the necessary materials for the renovation and coordinate the appointment with you. Installation is carried out by our authorized contractors with many years of experience, using only verified and certified materials for the safest solution.

Most installations are completed within one day.

4. A Warm, Worry-Free Home

After successful installation, we familiarize you with the use and maintenance. You also receive all documentation and a 10-year warranty – for complete safety, flawless operation, and long-term peace of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions from our Customers

Signs indicating chimney renovation include:

  • soot or tar stains on the walls,
  • smell of smoke in the room,
  • poor draft,
  • cracks and crumbling,
  • or a warning from the chimney sweep service.

Not necessarily. In most cases, the chimney can be renovated by inserting a metal liner, without demolishing the existing structure.

Only if the chimney is structurally severely damaged or unsuitable for liner installation is demolition the only safe solution.

If the chimney is too narrow, we perform a special reaming procedure to safely increase the inner diameter and allow the insertion of a stainless steel liner of appropriate dimensions.

We provide this service ourselves, unlike many providers who do not have this option and therefore often suggest more expensive or invasive solutions, such as demolition.
Reaming is a fast, reliable, and affordable procedure that preserves the existing structure and allows for modern renovation without major construction work.

Yes. Stainless steel (inox) chimney liners are suitable for all types of heating appliances – wood, pellets, oil, or gas, including condensing ones.

The liner diameter is determined based on the type of appliance, its power, and the chimney height, to ensure optimal draft and safe operation.

We use chimney liners made of high-quality AISI 316L stainless steel, which is:

  • resistant to acids, condensates, and high temperatures (up to 600°C),
  • extremely durable and suitable for all types of fuels,
  • with a smooth inner surface that allows for easier cleaning and less soot accumulation.

This ensures a long lifespan, safe use, and high resistance in all conditions.

We provide an accurate estimate after an inspection, as it depends on the material, age, and condition of the chimney.

How does the renovation process work?

  1. Free inspection – we assess the chimney’s condition and check renovation possibilities.

  2. Offer preparation – we prepare a customized technical solution and a clear offer with no hidden costs.

  3. Chimney preparation and stainless steel liner insertion – if necessary, we ream the chimney or remove old liners and install a stainless steel pipe of appropriate diameter.

Completion and documentation – we take care of finishes, sealing, and issue documentation of professional execution (usually after payment is received).

In most cases, renovation is completed within one day. For more complex cases – e.g., multi-apartment buildings or more intricate installations – the process may take longer. We always accurately estimate the duration in advance and inform you after the inspection.

After the renovation is completed, you receive:

  • a statement of conformity of execution with all applicable regulations,
  • a statement of properties of the installed materials,
  • a 10-year warranty on the entire chimney system and performed works.

Above all, you get a safe, modern, and efficient chimney system, ready for decades of worry-free operation.

We do not perform services that are the responsibility of authorized chimney sweep services, such as:

  • chimney cleaning and tar deposit removal,
  • regular or extraordinary chimney inspections,
  • flue gas emission measurements.

For these services, please contact your chimney sweep service.

A chimney fire occurs when soot and tar deposits, resulting from incomplete combustion, ignite in the chimney. It most commonly occurs in older, deteriorated, or poorly maintained chimneys.

After a chimney fire, we recommend a chimney inspection by the chimney sweep service and consistent adherence to proper burning practices and regular maintenance.

If the chimney is older or deteriorated, we recommend renovation by inserting a stainless steel (inox) liner, as it:

  • significantly improves sealing,
  • enables efficient flue gas exhaust,
  • reduces soot and tar accumulation.

Due to improved draft and reduced thermal loads, the chimney after renovation very effectively reduces the risk of another chimney fire.
